The winner of the 1996 International Person with MS of the Year was David Pearse from the UK

David Pearse

Wolfenson Award winnerDavid Pearse had enjoyed great success in his career in Information Technology until, at the age of 44 he was diagnosed with MS. Since then he has fought back at the disease by volunteering at the MS Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland at local, national and international level, giving freely his technical advice and skills. He has become a respected volunteer member of the British MS Society's management team in London; he was involved in setting up "World of Multiple Sclerosis".

He is supported by his wife Margaret and children Caroline and Richard and the dog Toby.
