This biennial award, established in 1994, recognises the valuable contribution people with MS make, or have made, to the worldwide fight against MS. The award is named after James D. Wolfensohn (pictured), former President of MSIF.
The objectives of the award are to:
- invite, encourage and promote the participation of people with MS at the biennial MSIF Living with MS Day, Council, Board and Committee Meetings,
- recognise the valuable contributions of people with MS within national MS societies and throughout MSIF,
- enhance the influence and position of people with MS within national MS societies.
The Award
The award winner will receive a travel grant to allow them, and a travelling companion, to attend the biennial MSIF Living with MS Day, Council, Board and Committee Meetings. The award covers all travel and accommodation costs, and other expenses such as food and registration fees, for the winner and accompanying person.
The winner will be presented with an MSIF certificate and will be expected to make a small speech.
All candidates will receive an MSIF certificate in acknowledgement of their nomination. |
Eligibility
Any person with MS known to a national MS society is eligible.

Nomination of Candidates
National MS societies must nominate candidates. Nominations are evaluated using the following criteria:
A the candidate’s involvement with their national MS society, local branch or community, B the candidate's past and present achievements, C what makes the candidate stand out from other PwMS, D any additional information that may be relevant.
Only one nomination per national MS society may be submitted.
National MS societies wanting to find out more about the award should email Zoe Burr, International Development Manager. |

Selection
The Persons with MS Advisory Group will evaluate the nominations. The winner will be announced in Making Connections. |
