  Persons with MS International Committee

The members of the Persons with MS International Committee - referred to as the PwMSIC - comprise one person with multiple sclerosis per member country. Its members serve as liaison persons with the national societies which they represent.

Aims and Objectives

  • To enable people with MS to exchange ideas and learn from one another by stimulating communication (between people with MS) at an international level

  • To encourage people with MS to develop Mutual Support (self-help) groups within national MS societies and to take an active part in the work of these societies.

  • To ensure that people with MS actively participate in the work of MSIF and are properly represented on all MSIF Committees and/or Work Groups.

  • To promote national and international meetings and workshops relevant to people with MS.

  • To fulfil an advocacy role on behalf of people with MS nationally and internationally by liasing and maintaining contact with other relevant organisations.

  • To actively promote education worldwide on all aspects of living with multiple sclerosis.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To disseminate information from the PwMSIC to and through their national society, as a member or observer of the national board.

  • To actively respond to requests from the Chair of the PwMSIC and/or the Secretariat for comment on issues relevant to persons with MS and/or MSIF projects.

  • To stimulate communications between persons with MS in their national society and MSIF.

  • To help develop policies relevant to the PwMSIC.

  • To participate in national and international meetings relevant to people with MS.
