  MSIF Standing Committees

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is a committee of Council and is comprised of Council delegates. The committee’s function is to make recommendations and nominate candidates to serve as MSIF Officers (President, Treasurer and Secretary) and Board members. A new Nominating Committee of around seven members is elected biennially at Council. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • elect and oversee a chairperson and define their responsibilities;

  • build the committee;

  • develop committee and Board job descriptions and recruitment plans;

  • prepare a description of MSIF to be distributed to potential Board members;

  • prepare a questionnaire for potential Board members;

  • cultivate interest of potential members;

  • identify and continuously add to pool of prospective committee members;

  • review seniority and performance of committee members;

  • solicit nominations for future Nominating Committee members, including from sources other than the national societies;

  • propose Board slate to Council for approval and

  • interact with Council on nominations.

Chairman

The current Nominating Committee Chairman is Ed Kangas from the USA.

The committee meets together timed with MSIF Board meetings but the majority of communication is by email.
