  MSIF Standing Committees

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee is responsible for:

  • developing the MSIF fundraising strategy with MSIF staff

  • researching and identify potential new sources of income for the MSIF

  • ensuring planning for regular and sustainable income for the MSIF

  • representing MSIF to potential funders

  • drawing upon Board members and member societies for support in specified areas

  • reviewing for Board approval MSIF fundraising strategy on a regular basis
The Chairman of the Fundraising Committee, who is elected from the MSIF Board, invites individuals from the MS community to join the Fundraising Committee according to their skills. There is no fixed term of office for Fundraising Committee members, who include:
  • MSIF Board Members, one of whom to be appointed as Chairman of the committee

  • MSIF Treasurer

  • Senior Fundraising Professional(s) from the larger member societies

  • Individuals co-opted for special events or purposes

The current Chairman of the Fundraising Committee is Alistair Fraser from Canada.

The MSIF CEO is an ex officio non-voting member of the committee.

The committee meets together timed with MSIF Board meetings but the majority of communication is by email.
