The Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) has a Resource Center and Library located at 130 W. 42nd Street, Suite 350, N.Y., N.Y. 10036 (Phone: 212-819-9770). SIECUS publishes an annotated bibliography on sexuality and disability, which was updated in 1994. They also run database searches for more specific topics, utilizing their own extensive reference library.
Sexuality and Disability is a quarterly journal that publishes scholarly articles on rehabilitation, disability, and sexuality. It also publishes guidelines for professional clinical practice, case studies, and information for consumers. The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) certifies professional sex therapists who can document that they have met their criteria for minimum educational and clinical experience standards. AASECT-certified therapists also must agree to adhere to a code of ethics. Planned Parenthood is a US national organization that provides information on abortion and birth control. However, some chapters conduct sex counseling, and the chapters can provide competent local referrals for sex therapy and counseling. There are a number of discreet catalogue services available that sell sexually oriented materials and promise anonymity to their customers. Most of these are not targeted toward people with disabilities, but they contain products that may be helpful to both disabled and nondisabled people. Some include:

The Multiple Sclerosis Intimacy and Sexuality Questionnaire-19 (MSISQ-19 - see Sexual Changes) is a 19-item self-report instrument that measures primary, secondary, and tertiary sexual dysfunction in MS. It is used to assess these dimensions of sexuality, and can be utilized to educate health-care providers about which dimensions of sexuality need treatment.
